Bye, bye vintage: Brooklyn Flea is leaving Williamsburg

We regret to share this Wednesday morning buzzkill: One of the city's best flea markets—Brooklyn Flea—is leaving Williamsburg.

According to a post by DNAinfo, the market owners have decided to ditch their residence at East River Park every Saturday, and are currently searching for a new spot. Apparently, the vintage-sifting crowds—between 10,000 and 20,000 people—have made it impossible for locals to enjoy the park and the beauty of Williamsburg waterfront.

So, due to complaints from the area's residents, the flea has so politely decided to take their leave. Don't fret too much: Beloved food fest Smorgasburg will still sell its tasty treats and finger-lickin' eats in the park every Saturday. (You can take away our vintage, but you can never take our spaghetti doughnuts!)

Perhaps this will inspire you to reserve your weekend flea trip for Sundays, when the open-air market operates at Prospect Park?
