If you're one of the thousands of runners taking part in this weekend's NYC Marathon, all your training has surely done a number on your shoes, right? We say you should prep for that 26.2 mile, five borough run with a new pair of kicks (and a big bowl of pasta, of course). A couple of brands just released some new running shoes inspired by the NYC marathon.

First up is the Brooks Freedom Adrenaline GTS (bottom left, $130 online). The shoes feature subtle images of the Statue of Liberty and the NYC skyline. (The oxidized green in the shoe represents the color of the statue and the orange accents are inspired by her flame, in case you were wondering.) The shoes are also equipped with sock liners that read Run and NYC. As for actual running, the well-cushioned shoe should offer you a soft ride and stability as you pound the pavement.

The New Balance Fresh Foam Zantes (top right, $100 at New Balance are a little less obvious with its NYC pride. Besides the subtle NYC printed on the side of the shoe and the skyline printed on the sock liner, these are your typical running kicks. The company's Fresh Foam is said to provide runners with a more aggressive toe spring, which helps with your overall run.

Yes, these are technically running shoes, but you could still wear on them on Sunday if you're just planning to watch the marathon. And really, getting around the city when so many streets are closed requires a little athletic maneuvering, too.
