Momofuku mogul David Chang is a man of many culinary interests (superb spicy fried-chicken sandwiches being just one) and now he's tapping into the Indian steakhouse genre—for one night only.

A jokey spread from this month's Fantasy Issue of Lucky Peach—Chang's quarterly food journal—introduced the world to Ruth Krishna's Tandoori Steakhouse, a pipe-dream concept starring actual chef Akhtar Nawab (Choza Taqueria) and offering fusion-fueled goods like spice-rubbed, tandoor-fired ribeye and creamed saag paneer.

But now that lark of a restaurant is getting real-life treatment on September 17, when Chang and Nawab will take over the space that formerly held East Village trattoria Spina and serve a Ruth Krishna tasting menu featuring that tandoor ribeye along with biryani onion rings with green-mango ketchup, aloo bhaji hashbrowns and mango lassi. Check out the faux-restaurant's website and stay peeled for when reservations open on August 18th.
