How to score (sort of) free Nutella pizza on Monday

As if New Yorkers need a reason to celebrate a good slice of pizza, next Monday, Feb 9 is apparently National Pizza Day. (Even though National Pizza Week takes place in January and October is National Pizza Month.) To honor the 'za-dedicated day, Ristorante Asellina will be handing out free pies.

But we're not talking about dollar slices here. This is a wood-fired round slathered with Nutella and loaded with marshmallows, caramelized banana slices, raspberry chutney and almonds. To take the treat home gratis, take a selfie with it and post the photo to your social media. Camera shy? Fork over $12 to get your hands on a pie. Ristorante Asellina at the Gansevoort Park Hotel, 420 Park Ave South between 28th and 29th Sts (212-255-9717, asellina.com)

UPDATE: A new requirement has been added to the deal. Those looking for free pizza must first pay for a lunch or dinner plate on top of taking a selfie with said pie, which makes us wonder: Is there a new definition of "free" we don't know about?
