Brother-chefs Max and Eli Sussman have a new project brewing: a Middle Easter-Mediterranean restaurant slated to open in Manhattan later this year. In the meantime, after leaving their respective projects (the Cleveland, Mile End Deli), the pair is testing menu ideas in the kitchen at Threes Brewing in Gowanus, now through March 31.

The bi-level brewery-bar already hosted Mile End last month as part of its residency program, which also recently included Roberta's and the Meat Hook, but the pair won't be dishing out poutine and Reubens. Instead, expect spit-roasted chicken shwarma drizzled in tahini-buttermilk dressing and topped with mint, cucumber and tomato; pumpernickel pitas paired with beet hummus for dipping; and a brunch menu highlighting shakshouka (the Tunisian-Israeli breakfast of pita bread and poached eggs doused in a spicy, cumin-tomato sauce) and cauliflower hash. Check back for more details, photos and the full menu soon.
