Mimi Cheng's is opening a dumpling den in Nolita tomorrow

Since launching two years ago, East Village jiaozi parlor Mimi Cheng's has become a favorite among New York dumpling fans for its fresh local ingredients and clever collaborations. Sister-owners Hannah and Marian Cheng are following up that success with a Nolita spin-off, opening at 380 Broome Street tomorrow. 

Mimi Cheng's from-scratch Taiwanese dumplings—born from a recipe passed down by their mother, and served pan-fried or boiled—will still be on offer in varieties like chicken-zucchini and pork with baby bok choy, but the sisters are expanding the menu to include bento-box combinations like the Taipei Tapas (four dumplings, a scallion pancake, house-made pickles) and the Hearty Home (four dumplings, rice, Taiwanese greens with crispy shallots).
