NYC's coolest new food hall teams up with Brooklyn Bridge Park for a film series

In mid-June, the sprawling new DeKalb Market Hall opened in Downtown Brooklyn, bringing a collection of 40 top-notch food vendors to the borough. Now, the team behind the 60,000-square-foot space is partnering with Brooklyn Bridget Park Conservancy for the 18th annual Movies with a View outdoor film series.

The screenings will take place every Thursday night from July 6 through August 24. Before each night's featured screening, DJs from Brooklyn Radio will be spinning records and BAMcinématek will show a short film. The theme for this year's series is "resistance," with many of the shorts and features revolving around the topics of race, gender and protest.

DeKalb Market Hall is not only bringing a collection of food vendors to the park—it's also making the event boozy. For the first time in the 18-year history of the series, attendees will be able to get their drink on while taking in a film at the waterfront park. Warsteiner and Oak Beverages will be selling beer and wine to thirsty patrons, who will be able to sip on the libations from the comfort of their blankets.

Food and music kick off at 6pm each night, but organizers recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to get through bag check and snag a prime spot. You can check out the full lineup below and find more information on the Conservancy's website.
