Cancel your Saturday afternoon plans—the East Village Meat Market is hosting their first-ever Pierogi Tasting Day, offering free samples of Ukrainian dumplings from neighborhood standbys Veselka, Streecha Ukrainian Kitchen and Jimmy's No. 43 as well as the Hunter Cultural Center and Jersey's Rosa-Ly Pierogi. You'll be feasting your way through some of the best pierogis in NYC, stuffed with fillings ranging from classic potato, cheese and sauerkraut to short rib, buckwheat and a seasonal pumpkin.
The delicious affair runs from 9am to 6pm and more pierogis will be available for purchase for those who want to bring them home. Be warned: you may not be able to fit into your Halloween costume.
