There’s a free way to get into the new VIP bar on the Met rooftop

If you thought the PsychoBarn on the Metropolitan Museum of Art rooftop was cool, get ready for something even better. There’s a new VIP bar perched atop the museum—since it’s only for very important people, it won’t be crawling with people on the hunt for the perfect artsy Instagram. However, we know how to get you in: become a member of the museum.

Any member at the associate level ($70) or higher gets access, but we actually know a trick to get you in for free. Just apply for an IDNYC membership card (through 2016), which gets you free access to cultural institutions including (yep, you guessed it) the Met.

The Met's VIP Members Rooftop Bar is open every Friday and Saturday from 5 to 8pm through October 29. Head up there for rooftop cocktails, stellar sunsets over the skyline and amazing outdoor art. Because there’s nothing better than feeling like a VIP for free.
