Time Out says

If you want to see Disney's two hit Broadway musicals, The Lion King and Aladdin, you'll have to wait until September, though tickets for both are on sale now. But if you can't wait that long to get your Disney fix, the company has a stopgap for you: four concerts (from July 22 through 25) at the gloriously ornate New Amsterdam Theatre, which has been dark since last March.

Performing songs from the Disney catalog will be four past stars of Disney musicals: Josh Strickland, who played the titular swinger in Tarzan; Michael James Scott, who made wishes come true as the Genie in Aladdin; Kissy Simmons, who prowled the boards as Nala in The Lion King; and Ashley Brown, who originated the role of nanny G.O.A.T. Mary Poppins in the 2006 stage musical. The list list will include such favorites as “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Whole New World,” “Circle of Life” and “Let it Go.”

Proceeds from the shows will benefit the Actors Fund, which provides essential services for the theater community.
