A massive chocolate waterfall is coming to Union Square

The gourmet Italian chocolate brand Venchi is opening its first flagship store in NYC tomorrow with some Willy Wonka-style flair.

The company, which has been around since 1878, is opening a Union Square store complete with the continent's largest chocolate waterfall, measuring 45-feet wide and 10-feet tall.

The waterfall won't be the only liquid chocolate on display, either. The Italian company is also bringing... what else? A fountain flowing with Suprema chocolate spread that is made with...what else? Hazelnut and extra virgin olive oil (Eat your heart out, Nutella). There will also be a whole wall of chocolate bars and a "Pick & Mix" area where you can choose from over 200 chocolate goodies.

If you're hungry, there will be house-made gelato in more than than 20 flavors including pistachio, cremino, gianduja and a vegan chocolate sorbet. Plus, there will be a coffee area to order signature drinks and crêpes.

The best part? The store at 861 Broadway (between 17th and 18th streets) is sandwiched right in between the new Nutella Cafe and Eataly. The French may have given us the Statue of Liberty, but the Italians know that the best ways to New Yorkers' hearts are through our stomachs.
