While Black Seed is a great spot for your morning bagel sandwich, we truly look forward to their bagel collaborations, where they team up with some of the best chefs in the city to imagine morning creations that put your bodega egg-and-cheese to shame. As they gear up to open their fourth location at the Ace Hotel in NoMad this June, the team went down the block to find their next partner, chef Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park, The NoMad).
Black Seed’s executive baker Dianna Daoheung worked with Humm to build a sandwich that was representative of the Make It Nice hospitality group and could sit on the menu of any of their restaurants. The NoMad Bagel consists of a custom-made celery seed bagel schmeared with black truffle cream cheese (casual) and topped with smoked sturgeon, pickled celery root, pickled shallots and thinly sliced celery. This ain’t your average bagel and lox, so be prepared—the sandwich rings up at $16.50 (the most expensive sando on the menu).
The sandwich special will be available on the menu for the entire month of June at all three of the currently open Black Seed locations (East Village, Nolita, and Hudson Eats at Brookfield Place), as well as the new location at the Ace Hotel (1186 Broadway) when it opens this month.
