The Empire State Building is leaning hard into its reputation as the world’s most romantic building this Valentine’s Day, unveiling a slate of over-the-top experiences designed to turn February 14 into a towering love story.

The iconic skyscraper is rolling out everything from private candlelit dinners to movie screenings, sunrise dates and proposal-ready moments, all staged within its world-famous Observatory Experience. The centerpiece is Empire for Two, a date night that gives one lucky couple private access to the building’s interactive exhibits and Observation Decks. The experience culminates in an intimate dinner for two on the 102nd Floor, complete with a specially decorated setting, a professional musician, vintage Dom Pérignon and a three-course chef’s tasting menu by STATE Grill and Bar, paired with wines selected by the building’s sommelier. With sweeping views of the city in every direction, the $14,000 package is aimed squarely at couples who believe romance should come with a side of altitude (and have the cash to pay for it).

For those seeking something less extravagant, there will be Paint n’ Pour classes on February 12, 13 and 15, where couples and Galentine’s Day crews alike can sip curated drinks while painting ESB-inspired canvases. Tickets are $150 per person.

The building is also leaning into its cinematic legacy with special Valentine’s Day screenings of Sleepless in Seattle ($135 per person), the ’90s romcom that immortalized the ESB for a new generation of romantics. Two showings on February 14 include complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, along with access to the 86th and 102nd floor Observation Decks.

Early risers can opt for a Valentine’s Day sunrise experience, watching daylight spill over the city while enjoying coffee and treats from the Starbucks Reserve inside the building. Meanwhile, STATE Grill and Bar will offer a three-course Valentine’s dinner priced at $98, with choices ranging from scallop crudo and porcini-crusted filet mignon to duck confit and raspberry profiteroles, making the Empire State Building a full evening destination even before you step into an elevator.

For those ready to make things official, the Happily Ever Empire proposal package ($1,000 per couple) delivers an exclusive guided tour and a private, roped-off corner of the 86th Floor Observation Deck for popping the question. And as a final romantic flourish, the building will light up in its annual pink on February 14.

All of this unfolds within the Empire State Building’s reimagined Observatory Experience, which underwent a $165 million transformation in recent years, adding a new interactive museum, redesigned spaces and upgraded views. For couples who want their Valentine’s Day to feel larger than life, it doesn’t get much higher than this.
