UPDATE: With Mayor De Blasio predicting indoor dining will most likely be banned again in the next few weeks, we've made the difficult decision to postpone Taste of Chinatown to a later date. Stay tuned to find out when you can help support the neighborhood at Time Out Market New York soon, and—in the meantime—discover more great ways to support local business (including those in Chinatown) via our ongoing Love Local campaign.

At Time Out Market New York next month, you’ll be able to savor the tastes of Chinatown all in one place.

We’re continuing our celebration of local culture and independent businesses, Love Local, with a two-day pop-up festival highlighting restaurants located just across the Manhattan Bridge from the Market in Manhattan’s Chinatown.

On December 5 and 6, stop by Time Out Market New York’s fifth floor from 11am–4pm to mix and match bites from four selected Chinatown restaurants: Jing Fong Restaurant, one of New York’s premiere traditional dim sum restaurants; Dim Sum Go Go, known for their fresh, made-to-order dim sum; Taiwan Bear House, offering modern twists on classic Taiwanese dishes; and Alimama Tea, a delicious dessert spot with amazing mochi donuts.

To produce the event, Time Out Market New York has partnered with the multicultural marketing agency ADMERASIA, which is currently working to highlight the achievements of Asian American entrepreneurs and restaurateurs located in Chinatown, an area of the city that’s been especially hard hit by this year’s crisis.

“Members of our business community have suffered great loss. In these trying times, we need to stand together and support them in every way we can. Chinatown is more than just a neighborhood. It is a symbol for the enduring spirit of those who had the audacity to chase their American dreams,” says Jeff Lin, co-founder of ADMERASIA. “We will continue to champion and support these businesses as they get back on their feet and applaud the effort of organizations like Time Out who are taking the tangible steps to be involved and make a difference.”

The four restaurants will be taking over the kitchens on the Market’s fifth floor to serve limited menus for the weekend. You’ll be able to stop by and enjoy some great, mouthwatering dishes like beef and enoki mushroom skewers, chicken steamed dumplings, honey walnut prawns, mochi donuts and more! (Don’t mind if we do!) In addition to indoor seating, you can enjoy your meal at our many outdoor waterfront seating options with gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline.

“We are proud to work with ADMERASIA to bring Chinatown’s eclectic food scene across the river to Time Out Market in our combined mission to help the neighborhood in their recovery,” says Time Out Group CMO, Sumindi Peiris. "Time Out is dedicated to supporting local businesses, especially during this time. At the Market, we bring this to life through curated chefs, restaurateurs and unique cultural experiences — capturing and celebrating the soul of the city."

We’ll see you on the DUMBO waterfront next month to celebrate the culinary heart of one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods!
