Who said there's no such thing as a free lunch? For those that have to slug it to Midtown East everyday for work, there's a major perk near the office today. The team behind the Italian restaurant Sola Pasta Bar in Soho is debuting a new age food truck on 53rd Street and Park Avenue. And to reward its first customers, Sola Pasta Kart is serving free bowls of pasta today from noon until 3pm.

While there will only be cacio e pepe (pecorino cheese and black pepper) and aglio, olio and peperoncino (olive oil, garlic, Calabrian chili, sun-dried tomatoes) available en gratis today, the permanent menu will feature a rotating selection of five different pastas, like rigatoni with tomato sauce, caserecce with pesto and cavatelli with kale, Italian sausage and Calabrian chili.

By Monday, May 21, two more locations are expected to open, including one near Bryant Park (42nd Street and 5th Avenue) and one in the Financial District (Zuccotti Park). The price of the bowls range from $8.50 to $9.50.
