If you haven’t visited Governors Island since it reopened for the 2018 season, now’s the time! There are a whole lot of great NYC events in July taking place on the city's car-free oasis, most notably the NYC Poetry Festival. There’s also an awesome new outdoor art installation by local artist Jacob Hashimoto worth peeping.

You can spend an entire day zip lining, frolicking through GI’s park The Hills and refueling with some grub and drinks at one of the attraction’s several beer gardens. And now, on Fridays and Saturdays, you can carry on with the festivities through the evening as the island has a later bedtime: 11pm.

The late-night Saturday addition begins this weekend (July 7), so go and get that coveted sunset photo of the New York Harbor while enjoying the attraction’s many other amenities after dark.
