New York City is the town of global noodles

Let's noodle on an idea. New York City is the noodle town: and we're not just talking about one of favorite places in Chinatown with a similar name. Between spaghetti al pomodoro at a red sauce joint like Bamonte's, curry laksa at Kopitiam, or japchae at Her Name Is Han, we might have the most globally diverse food map of noodles around the U.S. And while we love all of these slurp-able plates and bowls in equal measure, there is one noodle dish that has New Yorker's salivating above all else: ramen. It’s hard to pass up a beautiful bowl of glistening, perfectly fatty ramen. If you don’t believe us, just ask the seven million people on Instagram who have shared photos of the classic Japanese dish. Whether it's a famous Japanese ramen spot where it's all about the solo dining or vegan-only soups with serious clout, we New Yorkers can't stop lapping up the good stuff.

We're lucky to have one of the masters, Mr. Taka Ramen, coming to Time Out Market. Run by Takatoshi Nagara, the head chef behind the lauded Bigiya Ramen (where he gained a Michelin nod) in Tokyo and his friend Takayuki Watanabe, the duo opened on the Lower East Side in 2015 to some serious fan fare. Soon, you'll be able get your send nood photos of their miso ramen or equally flavorful Taka vegan bowl. Come do a big slurp with us in Dumbo. We can't wait to see you there!

Time Out Market New York, the best of the city under one roof is opening soon at 55 Water Street, Brooklyn.
