It's been three years since Eli Zabar's iconic Upper East Side seasonal restaurant Eli's Table has served its fresh fare to New Yorkers.

As first reported by Eater, the restaurant at 1411 Third Avenue by 80th Street inside Eli’s Market, another one of Zabar’s many local enterprises, is open for business once more.

Expect familiar aspects of the business to have remained intact, from the impressive wine list to the on-premise greenhouse and the rooftop garden where Zabar himself grows fresh produce that in turn dictates what dishes end up on the menu.

Some layout changes abound, though, reports Eater, while the staff is also preparing to "host classes [...] dinners with winemakers" and curated meals.

First opened under the moniker Taste back in 2003, Eli's Table quickly grew into a fine dining establishment spotlighting earthy fare and top-notch wine throughout the years, eventually rebranding as its current moniker in 2014 and becoming a must-visit venue within Zabar's large local culinary empire, which also includes the flagship market, Eli's Bar 91 on Madison Avenue, bread and pastry shop Eli's at Grand Central Market, take-out cafe E.A.T., wine and spirit shop Eli's List and beer bar Eli's Night Shift.

To note: uber-famous gourmet grocery store Zabar's, on the Upper West Side, is actually under Eli's brothers' purview.

Eli's Table is not the only legendary institution to finally re-open post-pandemic: Smoke Jazz Club was closed until less than a year ago while Central's Park Loeb Boathouse has just announced it will welcome patrons once more this June after unexpectedly shuttering this past October. Are we in the era of iconic restaurant returns?
