If your autumn bucket list isn't complete without thousands of glowing jack-o'-lanterns, crisp Hudson Valley air and at least one run-in with the Headless Horseman, it's time to start planning.
The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze, one of New York's most beloved fall traditions, is returning to Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson this season—and organizers are promising the biggest version yet. Running for 44 nights from September 18 through November 8, this year's event will feature the longest pumpkin trail in Blaze history, complete with new installations and interactive experiences.

The expanded trail introduces several all-new attractions for 2026: A Creature Feature Forest tips its witch's hat to the property's former life as a mid-20th-century drive-in movie theater, filling the woods with pumpkin-carved versions of classic movie monsters. Nearby, Literary Lane gives familiar children's stories the glowing jack-o'-lantern treatment, while the lawn in front of the historic manor house will host an interactive dance party. Returning favorites—including the elaborate pumpkin sculptures and light displays that have made Blaze a regional phenomenon—will once again stretch across the historic grounds, all made from thousands of individually hand-carved pumpkins.
Tickets go on sale to the general public this Thursday, July 30—and for anyone who's been putting off a visit because of the price, Historic Hudson Valley is also expanding its value-ticket program this year, with admission starting at $24 on select evenings. Advance reservations are required, and if you're hoping for a prime October weekend, don't wait too long. These pumpkins have a habit of disappearing fast.
