Are you getting pumped for pumpkin time? It's officially gourd season, but rather than stop at your nearest bodega, why not pick your pumpkin while basking in unparalleled views of the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan? That's right, The Trust for Governors Island announced that it's waterfront pumpkin patch is back for another Halloween season.

More than 2,000 small and medium pumpkins will occupy Nolan Park, and yes, they are available for purchase. Enjoy the autumn leaves, sip hot or cold cider, try some "ghoulash" and indulge in some pumpkin spice treats before you head home to carve your jack o'lantern.

Extra bonus for the little ones: Kids can go trick-or-treating at the historic houses along Nolan Park on Saturday, October 27 from 1–3pm. Double extra bonus for adults: Visitors 21 and over can order brews at the island's fall beer garden.

The pumpkin patch will be open for just two weekends (October 20–21 and Oct 27–28).
