Pumpkin-spice-everything season is back, for better or worse, with aggressively scented candles, themed merch and of course the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte. Think the PSL madness can't get any bigger? Think again: On Friday, October 2, Catfight Coffee is shutting down Main Street in Boonton, NJ, to unveil a terrifyingly tasty take: a 55-gallon Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Billed as the "Largest Pumpkin Spice Latte in the Universe," this liquid leviathan is the brain-child of rock veteran Acey Slade (of Joan Jett and Misfits fame) and his wife Meiling. They're pouring this fall-themed monstrosity at their unconventional Jersey coffeeshop, Catfight Coffee. Because why stop at a mere large?
Supported by 1883 Syrups, NuMilk, Rose & Ruth Spices and the legendary Weird NJ, the shop is transforming Boonton's First Friday celebration of local businesses into a full-blown spectacle worthy of the festive fall season.

But the giant latte isn't the only pumpkin-spiced happening of the evening. Attendees can enjoy free pumpkin spice lattes while supplies last, with character actors a photo ops galore. And themed contests will keep the chaos going. There's the PSL Speed Sip, in which contestants compete to chug an 8-ounce cold pumpkin spice latte. Guess the Giant PSL asks attendees to guess the final weight or total serving count of the 55-gallon behemoth for major prizes. And Pumpkin Spice Roulette is a taste-test challenge where unsuspecting participants blindly sip small samples—most are standard pumpkin spice, but one will contain an unpleasant mystery flavor like cayenne, pickle or black licorice.
Main Street will be closed to car traffic so attendees can stroll and support local businesses. Admission is free, love of pumpkin spice is not required.
