Georgian restaurant Chama Mama has been serving top-notch wine flights and melty cheese dishes to appreciative New Yorkers since 2019, when it first opened a storefront in Chelsea. An Upper West Side expansion followed in 2021, then a Brooklyn Heights location in 2023.

Things aren’t slowing down: the restaurant has just announced a new Bushwick outpost alongside the debut of Let’s Chama, an artisanal Georgian bakery concept that serves traditional pastries and baked goods out of the new Bushwick shop at 81 Morgan Avenue and alongside the Chelsea location at 149 West 14 Street.

The new space in Brooklyn spans 6,300-square-feet that encompass three separate areas: the main dining room, offering the same menu of classic Georgian foods that is served at the other restaurants, a bar and lounge area and the bakery, which itself seats 14 people.

The new bakeries—each one open Monday through Friday starting at 8am through 6pm—will be helmed by executive chef Nino Chiokadze, who is also behind the various restaurants' culinary programs. Expect the same level of detail and devotion to Georgian culinary traditions to shape the experience at Let's Chama, effectively one of the only bakeries of this kind in NYC. Grab-and-go options include Georgia’s national dish, of course: khachapuri, a cheese-filled, boat-shaped bread topped with butter and a runny egg, alongside mushroom pies, chocolate cigaretti and drinks like a fig-vanilla latte and a cinnamon-walnut latte.
