Brooklyn has been a hotbed of burritos as of late. Last year, everyone and their mother lined up in Bed-Stuy for hand-rolled tortillas from the pop-up Border Town. But now that they’ve moved on to greener, permanent pastures in Greenpoint, another tortilla contender has filled the gap—its chewy discs shifting those same lines over to Fort Greene.
Los Burritos Juárez is a tiny burrito operation just a few short blocks west of Fort Greene Park. Former Oxomoco chef Alan Delgado runs the kitchen, turning out lard-laced flour tortillas inspired by his childhood in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.
The tortillas, which took years to perfect, are worth their weight: griddled discs that are thicker than most in the city, incredibly chewy, and leave a light floury residue behind. After a visit to the flattop, they’re filled with a variety of stews, including slow-cooked shreds of pork simmered in a brick-red mix of guajillo, árbol and ancho chiles, and a verde with brisket and Yukon Gold potatoes.
Mornings bring breakfast burritos into the mix, adding fluffy eggs and potatoes to the fold. Good luck grabbing one.
Like we said, this burrito shop has had a line snaking out its door since it opened in August of 2025, one that will likely ramp up given their recent Michelin distinction. Pro tip: if you are a hater of lines but lover of burritos, arrive a hair before 10am to be in and out within 10 minutes or less.
