Chef Mayank Istwal is behind Musaafer—Houston's only Michelin-starred Indian restaurant—which opened a second location in the city last year, Musaafer NYC. On the West Coast, James Beard Award-winning chef Brandon Jew has made a name for himself at Mister Jiu’s in San Francisco, a contemporary fine-dining Chinese restaurant that also earned a Michelin star. Lucky for us, the two are coming together for a special one-night-only event.
Presented in partnership with Salty Magazine, Istwal and Jew will cook up a special dinner at New York's Musaafer on Tuesday, August 25th. Together, they'll explore the arrival of Chinese immigrants to Kolkata, formerly Calcutta, in the 1800s, and the resulting fusion of food that blossomed then and now.
Tickets cost $295, exclusive of tax and service, with an option to add on a wine pairing. Reservations are open on OpenTable.
