Time Out says

With Labor Day weekend upon us, now’s the time to get your last licks of summer (and ice cream too) before it gets cold. (Although, that’s never stopped us before.) More importantly, the warm weather is a good excuse to take advantage of New York’s seasonal bars on the water, like the floating Frying Pan.

Saturday is a good time to go, as the boat bar presents its first-ever Oyster Fest in honor of Labor Day weekend. Slurp and munch on raw and fried oysters, or go ham on a scrumptious oyster po’ boy sandwich. Blue Point Brewery provides the suds while Brooklyn Bluegrass Collective and WMD band bring the good tunes to keep the party going all through the night.

As an added bonus, a free boat ride aboard the John J. Harvey Fireboat is offered to guests on a first-come, first-served basis between the hours of 1 and 2:30pm. Not a fan of mollusks? We’ve got a full list of more awesome things to do on Labor Day weekend too.
