The World’s 50 Best Bars Awards heads to Asia for the first time to Singapore and it debuts a new concept: 50 Best Signature Sessions, which garnered much success from the 50 Best Restaurants programme. From October 14 to 18, six unique bar events will feature 15 exciting bars from across Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America.
Unlike typical guest shifts, the ticket-only sessions are designed to introduce Singaporeans as well as travellers from across the world to the elite bartending talent who will be gracing the Lion City with the awards. From exclusive cocktail recipes to showcases of global cocktail techniques, knowledge and skills, these bespoke gatherings promise plenty of action.
Jigger & Pony, best known as The Best Bar in Asia in The World’s 50 Best Bars, kicks off with a Whisky Night in collaboration with Tjoget from Stockholm on October 14. Expect six globetrotting drinks that fuse flavours from the likes of Michter’s, Nikka and Naked Malt.
Manhattan, together with Vancouver’s Botanist Bar, will be joining hands to bring guests a one-of-a-kind bottomless brunch on October 15. Expect exemplary service as these two former winners of the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award pair up to bring you decadent dark spirits cocktails from the likes of Torres Brandy, Matusalem Rum and Rémy Martin Cognac.
At the gin temple of Atlas, White Spirits Night will be in session on the evening of October 15. Together with invitees of 50 Best high-flier Little Red Door from Paris and Southside Parlor from Seoul, expect inventive tipples made with Roku Gin, Ketel One Vodka and Bareksten Aquavit, bringing you one of the city’s biggest parties in town. There will also be a special appearance by chef Daniele Sperindio from Michelin-starred restaurant Art, who will be feeding the hungry with his edible works of art.
Or sip, savour and swing at the revered Nutmeg & Clove with lots to eat and drink. Hailing from Miami is Julio Cabrera, a Roku Industry Icon Award at North America’s 50 Best Bars 2023, along with London’s Scarfes Bar and Tokyo’s High Five, for a fatal four-way collaboration of epic proportions. There will also be a cameo by Singapore’s own Labyrinth restaurant, ranked No.11 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, with quirky bites to satiate the hunger pangs.
In the mood for agave? Head down to the iconic Writers Bar in Raffles Hotel on October 18 as they host the best bar in Mexico, Handshake Speakeasy and their signature Salt N Pepper concoction.
And teasing Mandarin Oriental Singapore's recent million-dollar facelift, MO Bar welcomes Riccardo Rossi of Freni e Frizioni for an Italian Night, working with some of the most prestigious Italian liqueur and spirits brands, including Disaronno, Tia Maria, Amaro Lucano, Campari and Mancino Vermouth.
