Step into the seductive world of 1930s Chinese speakeasy during Time Out Cocktail Club: Shanghai Nights – a one-night-only event at The St Regis Singapore Astor Bar to celebrate the hotel's 10th anniversary. Doors open at 7pm on Sepetmber 6 and you'll be treated to a night of cocktails, canapés and beer for $88 nett.

Drinks are prepared by four of the city's best bartenders: Andrew Loudon (Tippling Club), Sam Wong (Mona Lounge), Ronan Keilthy (Junior) and Christian Chavez (Astor Bar). Here's what you need to know about these bartending superstars.

Andrew Loudon

Current role

Head bartender at Tippling Club, which is seventh on this year's Asia's 50 Best Bars list and 31st on 2017's World's 50 Best Bars list.

Formerly from

Satan's Whiskers and 69 Colbrooke Row in London, Socio Rehab (Manchester) and Bar Americano (Melbourne).

Why he's awesome

He's bringing years of international experience at some of the world's best bars to Singapore's drinking scene.

 

Sam Wong

Current role

Group chief bartender Coterie Concepts currently based at Mona Lounge, a new bar located within Sum Yi Tai.

Formerly from

A veteran in Singapore's cocktail scene, Sam worked behind the bars of Jigger & Pony and Nutmeg & Clove before he founded Ah Sam Cold Drinks Stall.

Why he's awesome

 This local boy has worked his way to the top and loves incorporating a local touch to his drinks.

Ronan Keilthy

Current role

Bartender at Junior and 28 Hongkong Street.

Formerly from

Crackerjack in Singapore and before that, Hockley Arts Club and Brass Monkey in Nottingham.

Why he's awesome

He won The Rising Star awards at this year's The Bar Awards Singapore, beating out other nominees like Bai Jia Wei (Employees Only) and Cherrie Soh (Caffe Fernet).

Christian Chavez

Current Role

Bar manager of Astor Bar at The St Regis Singapore.

Formerly from

 Balaclava at Suntec City before joining The St Regis Singapore in 2010 where he worked his way up from bartender to manager.

Why he's awesome

He embodies the hospitality of the luxurious five-star hotel, making guests feel relaxed and ensuring that their every need is met.
