“On a clear day, you’ll be able to see as far as Indonesia. It's really gorgeous,” shares the bubbly duty manager as she checks us into The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. She wasn't exaggerating – most of the windows at this five-star property look out at the stunning cityscape and even offer a peep of our neighbouring islands.

Soak it all in (and we mean this quite literally) from one of its 608 rooms or even by the windows at the lift lobby. Unobstructed scenery, from the Singapore River to the big blue sea, is available throughout the day – and your stay. The views get better the higher up you climb, particularly so at the peak of the 32-storey building, where the Club Room is located.

Indulge in the best of what The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore has to offer with its Club Escape Staycation (from $595) – which grants you access to the Club Room and a stay at one of its prime rooms located on the top-most floors of the hotel. Here’s what you can expect.

Room with a view

Rooms, as part of the Club Escape Staycation, are located at top floors of the hotel and promise a stellar vantage point. From the expansive window, enjoy a panoramic snapshot of the city. Other highlights, should you be able to peel yourself away from the mesmerising view, include an in-room Smart TV (all the easier to binge on the latest Netflix series), modern furnishing (like wireless charging), and a comfortable daybed to unwind and relax.

Of course, what’s a stay at The Ritz-Carlton without a soak (or two) in its legendary bathtub? Each octagonal-shaped window – designed in accordance with auspicious feng shui principles – offers an amazing view. The tub is a prime spot to while the time away with a book in hand, champagne flute in other. Bath salts, loofah, and even a bath pillow have also been thoughtfully prepared. But for the ultimate pampering experience, drop by a Lush store (there’s one located at the nearby Suntec City) and pick up a bath bomb.

The skyline as nightlight

Can’t sleep in pitch darkness? Roll up the black-out blinds and soak in the dramatic nighttime skyline instead. Beds are strategically placed to face the window, and the gentle glow from the city’s skyscraper serve as the perfect ambient light to lull you to sleep. That, and the plush king-sized bed will surely make for a good night’s rest.

Beyond boasting panoramic views, the hotel's exclusive lounge, the Club Room, offers five different “culinary presentations” served throughout the day. Head up to the 32th floor and be treated to breakfast, mid-day snacks, afternoon tea, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and desserts and cordials – it's impossible to go hungry during your stay.

The free-flowing meals don’t skim on quality either, with a rotating menu that might include clam chowder with focaccia and warm, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and preserves.

The Club Room also comes with a drawing nook, complete with an easel and drawing materials to let guests sketch and immortalise the scenic skyline. The main highlight, however, has got to be the all-day wine and champagne. And yes, having a mimosa or two at every mealtime is a perfectly acceptable request.

Besides the endless food from the Club Room’s five meal presentations, the hotel also has a slew of amenities to keep guests well-entertained. Venture out of the comfy room and you’ll discover that the hotel is home to over 4,000 contemporary art pieces. There’s even a well-equipped gymnasium fitted with wide-ranging equipment, from yoga mats to boxing gear, and a 25-metre swimming pool that’s shielded from the public eye. Or choose to unwind in the jacuzzi, steam room, or sauna – all of which are available for hotel guests. Booking of the gym and pool is highly encouraged and can be easily done so via email before checking in.

While most might choose to lounge by the pool and laze on the cabana while the sun is out, the beautiful pool offers a different, and equally stunning experience at night, too. It’s almost like having a private pool – a particularly nifty perk for snapping up Instagram-worthy pictures of the hotel, and yourself. An insider tip shared by a helpful pool attendant: head to the back of the compound and stand at where the middle nightlight is for the ideal photo-taking spot.

It’s the little things

The hotel certainly dazzles in terms of room and views, along with Club Room perks. But it also does well in impressing with the little things and paying attention to the smallest detail. Menus are personalised for each individual and the waitstaff even makes it point to remember preferred seating options. Envelopes to keep your mask before mealtimes are also placed at each table. And the housekeeping team is almost ninja-like; we barely noticed the room was transformed with the turn-down service, where chocolates and bath slippers were thoughtfully laid out by the bed. Other highlights include complimentary garment pressing, personalised check-in and check-out service, and the provision of an extra set of mask and hand sanitiser.

Worth the splurge?

The Club Escape Staycation begins at $595 per night for two guests – an admittedly stiff price. But it's an experience well worth the splurge: there’s the unobstructed view, the legendary bathtub, stellar service, and an endless amount of food and bubbly. It’s even possible to stretch your dollar further and not leave the property at all – by fully utilising all that the hotel has to offer. All you need is to pack a fresh set of clothes and you’re all set for a pampering experience that’ll let you see, and appreciate, Singapore in a new light.
