There's a new reason to visit Dempsey Hill, and this one might just give Huber's Butchery a run for its money. Curly's, the latest concept by the folks at Ebb & Flow Group (the same people who brought you Chin Mee Chin Confectionery and Casa Vostra), is an upmarket grocer, bakery and restaurant all in one. It's not the first of its kind in Singapore, but it brings special touches like smoothies inspired by the viral Los Angeles market Erewhon, and a well-tended garden at the back, which supplies ingredients to its bistro. Here's everything to expect at this new 8000 square foot compound.

The heart of Curly's, Curly's Market, brings in some of the freshest produce, with over 90 percent of the curation certified as organic. At launch, the shelves are stocked with fresh tomatoes, leafy greens, cucumbers, long beans and eggplants, all grown in the brand's partner farm in Brunei. And in the coming days, the grocer is expected to receive batches of turmeric, avocados and more. Other pantry items are sourced from small, independent producers from Japan, Australia and other regions.

From Asia, you'll find Kampot pepper from Cambodia by La Plantation, Kajiya beef from Tanegashima, Japan, as well as dairy products and organic tea from Jeju, South Korea. And beyond Asia, the market also spotlights goods like Italian bean-to-bar chocolates by Amedei, Moroccan amlou spreads by Taje, sustainably harvested pipis from Australia and more.

An in-house line, Curly's Creations, includes a selection of ready-to-eat meals, sauces and condiments, all made from surplus produce so that nothing goes to waste. These include Umami Crunch, a house-made chilli crunch with olive oil, young ginger, orange peel and Szechuan peppercorns. Other pantry staples include pork collagen soup and grass-fed beef bone stock, all ready to use to whip up your next healthy meal.

Right beside the grocery section is the in-house Curly's Bakery, led by former Seroja chef Brian Lee. The mini kiosk turns out wholesome bakes and pastries, freshly brewed coffee (from $7 for a flat white) and non-caffeinated beverages. Health junkies can choose from four juices – Super Anti-Ox, Zinger, Greens and Big 'C' ($9 each).

The smoothies are another highlight, taking cues from the viral Erewhon smoothies from LA, popularised by Hailey Bieber. Flavours include mixed berries, avocado-chocolate, spirulina with orange and tropical fruits, and the signature Curly's Smoothie, which is a blend of fruits with collagen peptides, coconut cream and red dragonfruit syrup. Unsurprisingly, these cost anywhere between $16 and $18 per glass.

Curly's Dining

Linger a little longer at Curly's Dining, which has both indoor and outdoor seating available. The bistro is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the morning, tuck into everything from Chin Mee Chin Confectionery's signature kaya brioche ($16), to a comforting bowl of Jeju abalone porridge ($26) or French toast with organic maple syrup ($26). For lunch and dinner, the restaurant serves up signatures like pork porchetta ($33), prawn dumplings ($22), roasted chicken ($32) and pork lard fried rice ($28).

Wash it all down with cocktails (from $18) designed by June Baek, the award-winning bartender behind Hup San Social Club. The cocktail menu leans clean and refreshing, incorporating plenty of fruits and vegetables. You'll spot healthy spins on classics, like a Bloody Mary crafted with tomato water and a tea-based martini, as well as summer favourites like Mimosas and Palomas.

The alfresco dining area extends into the backyard, where you'll find Curly's very own garden, co-tended with its neighbouring French bistro Atout. Here's where produce like lady's fingers, lemons, mint, thyme, rosemary, cherry tomatoes, coriander and tarragon are grown – and all are featured in the menu at Curly's Dining. This 3000 square foot outdoor space is also pet-friendly, making for the ideal spot for your furkids to frolick around on weekends.

In 2026, Curly's will introduce a host of activities, from hands-on cooking workshops and weekend farmers' markets, to chef showcases and cooking demos. The brand also plans to roll out an e-commerce platform later this year, offering delivery services and pick-up options.

Find out more about Curly's here.

Curly's is open from 9am to 6pm on Mondays to Wednesdays, and 8am to 6pm on Thursdays to Sundays at 40C Harding Rd (Ground Floor), Dempsey Hill, Singapore 249548.
