This year has been bleak for global aviation – travel restrictions have been implemented and there's been a slump in demand from travellers. Even the undisputed best airport in the world – for the eighth consecutive year – has not escaped unscathed. Singapore Changi Airport announced plans to close Terminal 2 till next year and postponed the construction of Terminal 5.

However, Phase 1 has allowed the airport to operate for transit from June 2 – easing some restrictions and gradually reopening Singapore's borders. While we can't travel abroad just yet, we can still enjoy the best of Changi Airport and Jewel, as they reopen their doors in Phase 2, with attractions resuming activity this weekend.

Majority of restaurants and retail outlets including Burger & Lobster, Shake Shack, A&W Restaurant, and Violet Oon Singapore have reopened since June 19, welcoming back customers with attractive promotions and enhanced delivery services. But starting from today, you can also visit the attractions in Jewel including the Canopy Park and the Changi Experience Studio. Similar to other attractions, restaurants, and shops island-wide, these venues have put in place the necessary safety measures, as well as contactless payments, takeaways, self pick-ups, and deliveries where possible.

The majestic dome is home to the world's tallest indoor waterfall, so a trip to the crown jewel of Changi Airport makes a gratifying post-circuit breaker treat. The Canopy Park is known for its six-and-a-half-metre-tall Discovery Slides, cloudy Foggy Bowls, colourful Petal Garden, and whimsical Topiary Walk of Canopy Park. Over at the Changi Experience Studio, there are a number of interactive games that illustrate the work it takes to get Changi Airport working like clockwork.

For some retail therapy, Jewel is rolling out the GST Absorbed Shopping Extravaganza where shoppers can enjoy an additional $10 cashback with a minimum spend of $80. This is on top of the ongoing in-store sales where you can further enjoy discounts of up to 50 percent from brands such as Osim and Love Moschino. Plus, you get double the reward, earning both Changi Rewards points and CapitaStar Star$. The shopping perks continue over at Changi Airport where you can enjoy the Save 2xGST promotion with a minimum spend of $30, and redeem $10 Changi Gift Cards or $5 e-Vouchers when you spend more than $70 with Mastercard.
