Hong Kong will be lifting Covid-19 flight bans from nine countries starting April 1. This includes countries like Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US. For these countries, the current requirements of a 14-day quarantine period will be cut to seven days, as long as travellers test negative on the sixth and seventh day from their arrival.

The full list of countries includes Australia, Canada, France, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, the UK, and the US. Unfortunately, this has yet to apply to Singaporean residents, and we will still need to serve 14 days in a designated quarantine hotel, followed by seven days of self-monitoring. On the bright side, upon our return to Singapore, there’s no need to serve quarantine with the Hong Kong VTL lane

There’ll also be a gradual easement in Hong Kong’s social distancing measures – involving restaurants, gyms, and public gatherings starting 21 April. Schools will also resume face-to-face classes from April 19.

We can’t wait till we’re back in Hong Kong – we’ll be heading down to every dim sum restaurant with a pushcart and drinking our fair share of milk tea.
