The boutique glampsite's lease won't be renewed as SDC wraps up its Southern Islands experiment

In a recent Instagram post, Lazarus Island’s glampsite Into the Woods announced it will be closing for good – and not because it wants to.
After years of running one of Singapore’s few island glamping sites, the boutique stay revealed its lease won’t be renewed, calling it a “structural reality” that small businesses like theirs simply can’t outmanoeuvre.
The news lands hot on the heels of Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island confirming it too will be bowing out by February 2027, as the Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) wraps up its three-year Southern Islands experiment.
For Into the Woods, the goodbye feels especially intimate. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Ray Lee and Sam Wong, the space carved out a rare kind of quiet, and we can vouch for that. The site includes nine air-conditioned tents, communal cooking setups, a pet-friendly space, and a chance to slow down.
“Our goal with sharing this closure is not to dwell on frustration, but to reflect on the journey: the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned, and the moments that made it all worthwhile,” shared the founders.
Into the Woods will be operating until the first week of January 2027. So if it’s been sitting on your “one day” list, contemplate no more. Bookings can be made here.
