Expect Vietnamese at Super Ngon, Peranakan at The Gem of Nyonya, and modern Indian at Dipu

Amid the shophouse buzz and after-work chaos at Club Street, a new playground has quietly opened up. Say hello to Icon Link@ClubStreet, a 20,000-square-foot underground stretch tucked beneath Mercure Icon Singapore City Centre in basement two, stitching together Chinatown and Telok Ayer with a fully sheltered, air-conditioned route.
And this isn’t just another mall shortcut. The new space is an entire lifestyle hub – featuring over 20 food spots in the mix, swinging from regional Asian comfort to quick global fixes. You’ve got Vietnamese bites at Super Ngon (now relocated here), punchy Sichuan mala from Cooking Panda, and Peranakan staples at The Gem of Nyonya. Then there’s Dipu, a modern Indian concept by the Fifth Season folks, plus familiar names like Fun Toast and Ah Gong Teochew Noodle holding it down for the homesick office crowd.
The lineup spills into retail and services, too – there’s Grab a Bottle for last-minute dinner-party grabs, and fashion stops like Angel Republic and Katia Verde.
Apart from the food and shopping, don’t miss out on what we can confidently say is the highlight of the hub – two magnificent large-scale murals by Singaporean artist Belinda Low serving as a lovely reminder that you’re walking through one of Singapore’s most storied districts. One captures old-school Chinatown in motion, spotlighting figures like samsui women and traditional tradespeople; the other recreates a street scene anchored by a lone musician, a nod to a time when entertainment didn’t require a screen.
