World Water Day falls upon March 22 – and that’s today. Besides a day for us to acknowledge the importance of having fresh water, it’s also the last night that key buildings and structures in Singapore will be coloured a vibrant shade of blue. And yes, that means a staggering 56 buildings will be lit up to show their support for water conservation.

That includes heritage buildings like Capitol Singapore and The Fullerton Hotel, and even bridges like the Helix Bridge.

It’s all part of PUB’s “City Turns Blue” initiative. When walking by, make sure to use hashtags #GoBlue4SG and #MakeEveryDropCount to show support. PUB, in collaboration with Canon, will also be running a photo contest till March 27 for photographers to capture images of water – all based on the theme “Water is Life”.
