We’re all massive fans of affordable furniture. Stylish designer pieces and exquisite leather craftsmanship aside, we live for Ikea and how their showrooms are both functional but still insanely good-looking. Enter Nitori, a new Japanese furniture brand that has made it to the fourth floor of The Heeren along Orchard Road. It spans more than 31,000 square feet, meaning that it’ll quickly become the new hot spot for those eagerly looking to deck out their new apartment or BTO flat.

Is it like Muji, in its minimalist but practical charm? Or is it more like Daiso for its value-for-money goods? Whichever you think Nitori falls under, they’ve got an in-store range that any new homeowner will be more than pleased to browse through when they’ve got a free afternoon to spare.

For one, their N-Cool Collection is a bedding range that makes the most of special tech – it promises to be a whole ton of things including antibacterial, water-absorbent, and quick-drying. That’s everything that we need for our bedsheets and comforters, with how Singapore’s rainy day forecasts have been looking lately. Fitted sheets start from $26.90 and comforter covers start from $31.90.

Nitori will also be carrying large furniture pieces such as bed frames and dining tables, alongside decor and interior accessories. While this is just their second flagship store in Southeast Asia – the first being in Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Bintang – they’ve announced that they have plans to open at least nine more stores in Singapore within just five years.
