It’s everyone’s favourite childhood fave: Pokémon. We spent the bulk of our youth collecting rare trading cards or more recently, battling it out at gyms with Pokémon Go. And now, it’s making a massive comeback with Scoot x Pokémon’s themed aircraft.

Meet the Pikachu Jet TR, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that seats up to 375 eager travellers. The very first flight is scheduled to happen on September 9, taking off from Singapore to Tokyo. While the plane’s body itself is all splashed out with popular Pokémons from the ever-popular Pikachu to the Generation 1 Psyduck, the flight itself offers special Pokémon-themed amenities.

Colourful tote bags, Pokémon-imprinted bucket hats, and even a limited edition of the aircraft – the slogan “you gotta catch ‘em all” rings true when it comes to these collector's items. You can buy these while booking your flight or when during the inaugural flight itself.

There’ll also be themed Japanese meals that you can pre-order, with sets like Ginger Teriyaki Chicken With Rice.

With travel restrictions now coming to an end, it’s certainly timely that Scoot and Pokémon have partnered up to launch these new Pokémon-themed flights. After all, it was just announced that Japan might scrap pre-arrival travel testsYou can book a trip between Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul, with one-way tickets starting from $333 to Tokyo and $231 to Seoul. Flights will depart bi-monthly from Changi Airport’s Terminal 1.

But till travel restrictions are officially lifted, head down to the Pikachu Weekend in Singapore that’s running from November 18 to 20. Here, you can look forward to a night show at Marina Bay, and a Pokémon Go Safari Zone: Singapore at Gardens by the Bay – you might stumble upon a wild Maractus and maybe even a Shiny Purrloin.
