If you've ever queued at Nuldam Space in Scape to pen a letter to yourself, here's a new spot offering the same experience, but for a good cause. Located a short walk from Redhill MRT, Postboy Coffee sits on the second floor of i'mable Collective Space, a recently added block within the Enabling Village compound. Here, you can pick up postcards ($4 each) at the counter, designed by local artists with disabilities, write a letter to your future self and slip it into one of the letterboxes, which are labelled by month. Your postcard will reach you on a random day within the month you've selected. It's a fun activity to do on a date, with friends or even on a solo day out.

First impressions: the space is clean, modern and inviting, with light wood panels, generous daylight and a cheeky pop of cobalt blue splashed across the merch corner and mailboxes. It's still relatively under-the-radar, so you're likely to find a peaceful corner to sip and type away if you so need – there are a couple of power sockets scattered around for a quick work sesh. Though you might want to steer clear of the cushioned booth seats, as they're slightly shallow and uncomfortable.

The beverage menu is pretty wide. You've got your classic espresso-based options, with an Americano and latte starting from $4.50 and $6 respectively. Other variations include the Spanish latte ($7) which has condensed milk added, white chocolate mocha ($7) and the café's signature Lemon Cloud's Drip ($8.50). The latter is inspired by the einspanner, except that the usual iced black base is replaced with filter coffee and then topped with a sweetened lemon cream foam. Try the foam on its own, before stirring it all in. We found the foam to be a tad clumpy at first, but once everything is properly mixed in, the drink becomes much more enjoyable, with the citrus notes of the cream blending well with the fruity notes of the coffee.

Those skipping coffee can pick from a decent selection of non-coffee drinks, including homemade lemonade ($5), strawberry latte ($7.50) and matcha white chocolate ($8). Or enjoy a fragrant pour of Chinese tea, with options like Duck Poop Oolong, Tie Guan Yin and Pu-Erh ($5) each. While you can't get a proper brunch or meal here, there are still a few bakes to nibble on. The most substantial item on the menu is the freshly-made waffles in flavours like peanut butter and jelly ($9.50), as well as a rotation of treats like banana bread and cookies (triple chocolate, matcha and more flavours) available at the counter.

There’s also a merch counter at Postboy stocked with stickers and T-shirts, plus regular workshops spanning activities like planner-making and fabric stamping, to filter coffee brewing sessions priced at around $35 per person. Pro-tip: Follow their socials for the latest event updates. We also recommend checking out the rest of the i'mable collective space. The 800-square-metre compound is operated by local creative agency weareSuper, bringing together over 30 inclusive brands, galleries and design studios for residencies. You can shop for craft pieces by artists with disabilities, or even join workshops like vase painting, porcelain bento decorating and more.

And while you're in the area, you might also want to pop by the neighbouring Mad Roaster's Slow Bar – another inclusive café – or Bailey & Patch Pet Café if you're out and about with your furkid.

Time Out says: 4/5
