If you thought Singapore’s wine scene couldn’t get any more impressive, think again – because Temper Wine Room & Lounge, Singapore’s wine hotspot known for its 1,000-strong wine list and sommelier-led experience, just walked off with not one, but two shiny wins at the Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026.
Temper is the Duxton Hill darling that’s been pulling in the city’s wine crowd since it opened in September 2025. You know the type: dim amber lighting, velvet everything, and a wall of wine that casually flexes over 1,000 labels. There’s even a tablet to scroll through the list.
Behind it all is Roberto Durán, a Master Sommelier, alongside a polished team. Add in cocktails with local storytelling flair and a menu that leans luxe-but-familiar (oysters, steaks, the obligatory burger), and you’ve got a place designed for long, indulgent nights.
At this year’s Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia 2026, Temper didn’t just show up – it bagged Best Newcomer and Best Long List, a category reserved for wine programmes with over 600 labels.
And if you’re unfamiliar, these aren’t participation trophies. The Star Wine List awards are judged by an international panel of top sommeliers and wine experts, who nitpick everything from depth and diversity to how well the list actually works with the venue’s concept.
