Featuring warabimochi drinks and ice cream

Warabimochi Kamakura, the wildly popular Japanese dessert chain, sets foot in Singapore on February 3. Its first outlet is located at the newly opened and pet-friendly One Holland Village, while its second store will be unveiled at Taste Orchard around end February.
The chain specialises in warabimochi, a type of mochi that is made from bracken starch, which gives it a silky smooth and lighter texture as compared to regular mochi. Warabimochi Kamakura is also one of the earlier chains to popularise the warabimochi dessert-drink combination, where classic beverage flavours like matcha and coffee milk are topped with warabimochi pieces instead of your usual tapioca pearls. The drinks come with a homemade whipped cream topping which is freshly made on-site daily.
Best-selling flavours include the Strawberry Milk or Yogurt (from $7.70), Asakawa-en Matcha (from $5.90), Coffee Milk (from $5.90) and Tenku No Hojicha (from $5.90). Customers can enjoy the opening 1-for-1 promotion on these drink flavours, available from 3-5 February at One Holland Village. The promotion can be redeemed by following @kamakura_singapore on Instagram, and is limited to two redemptions per person.
Apart from drinks, customers can also snack on hand-cut warabimochi pieces (from $7.90) which are made fresh daily and topped with kinako (soybean) powder, or warabimochi cups (from $3.90) served with or without ice cream.
