Australian barbecue restaurant Burnt Ends has made a name for itself as one of the most coveted establishments to dine at in Singapore. So when the group announced plans to launch its first industrial tank-to-tap brewery, you'd imagine the scale to be big. But 10,000 square feet big? Perhaps not.

People People Brewing Co. calls Weave at Resorts World Sentosa home, opening earlier this April as a working beer brewery, social space and restaurant all in one. We make our way down to Sentosa to check out what the fuss is all about.

The vibe

People People Brewing Co. has got all the makings of a laid-back, family-friendly spot where everyone gets to sink into their chairs and let loose – high ceilings, a spacious open layout, large communal tables and the list goes on. The whole venue fits up to 180 guests, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Look left, and you'll spot the brewery's workhorses: five massive 1,500-litre tanks delivering fresh beer directly to custom-made taps and into your glasses. Further back is a gift store stocked with People People Brewing Co. bottled beer and merch, as well as a soundproof private dining room where guests get to pour their own beer and enjoy a curated chef's tasting menu. The room is available for bookings of up to 12 people, with a minimum spend of $100 per pax.

Back in the main dining hall, the open kitchen beckons with a warm glow, fully equipped with a wood-fired oven and central rotisserie firing up pizzas, rotisserie chicken and other flame-kissed dishes. There's also a stage for live music performances, a projector for sports screenings, and even a small game room to keep the little ones (and the young at heart) entertained. Oh, and a boxing arcade machine by the taps, if that's more up your alley.

The drink

People People Brewing Co.'s beer programme is led by its head brewer Nick Calder-Scholes, who was named Australian Brewer of the Year in 2024 and has over 10 years of experience across the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The menu features drinkable staples like lagers, pale ales and IPAs, alongside experimental fruited sours, barrel-aged stouts and more.

Start crisp and light with the house lager (from $13), or dive straight into something fruitier and flavour-forward with the passionfruit and yuzu sour (from $14), or the equally tropical XPA (from $13). We also like the clean and refreshing Poolside Pils (from $12), with a hint of lime, as well as the hop-driven California IPA (from $14), which sits at a bold 6.2 percent. Stout lovers can go for the Oatmeal Stout (from $13) – smooth and velvety with plenty of character.

Looking to really geek out? Find out all about the whole tank-to-tap process at the brewery's weekly Thirsty Thursdays - Meet the Maker sessions in the evening, where Nick takes you behind the scenes for a closer look at the brewing process before wrapping things up with a guided tasting in People People Brewing Co.'s private dining room.

Non-beer fans aren't left out either, with a small selection of wines by the glass (from $16), alongside classic cocktails ranging from highballs ($16) to stiff Negronis and Old Fashioneds ($20), as well as martinis customised to your liking ($20), whether you prefer them bone-dry, dirty or as a classy Vesper.

The food

One word: pizzas. Who would've thought People People Brewing Co. would serve up one of the tastiest slices we've had in recent months? These hefty 12-inch sourdough pies come out piping hot with a crispy crust and chewy base after meeting their maker in a Classico wood-fired oven.

We like the Pulled Pork Sanger ($30), loaded with pulled pork, chipotle, jalapeños and a generous serving of red cabbage, which adds crunch and much-needed acidity to each meaty bite. The classic margherita ($24), simple but well-executed, is another good shout.

It's hard to pass up on the signature rotisserie chicken ($16 for a quarter, $30 for half, $58 whole). Served with fries and your choice of lemon thyme, peri peri, jerk or soya sauce, the chicken is succulent and tender down to the bone, and perfectly enjoyable even without any dressing.

Crowd your table with other staples like salt and pepper squid ($16), grilled parmesan broccolini ($10), and if you're feeling up for it, the Blackmores' Giant Burger ($58) – a behemoth stacked with a 100 percent wagyu patty, onion ring, cheddar cheese and a whole bone-in short rib, sandwiched between fluffy potato buns.

A trip into Sentosa requires a solid reason, and the team behind People People Brewing Co. are well aware of that. Which is why they've pulled out all the stops – an expansive beer programme and working brewery fit for tours, an impressive kitchen and food menu, a thoughtful weekly calendar where each day offers its own unique experience, and side details like game facilities and sports screenings.

The beers are great, but it's the food that punches above its weight, going beyond your regular greasy pub grub and offering something a little more elevated. People People Brewing Co. won't replace your regular neighbourhood watering hole, but if you're looking for a destination venue where crisp pours, hearty food and family-friendly entertainment come together, this definitely checks the boxes.

People People Brewing Co. is open from 11am to 11pm from Wednesdays to Mondays at 26 Sentosa Gateway, B1-209-217, Singapore 098138.
