When you think of Vietnam, coffee and pho are probably the first things that come to mind. But there's another local specialty worth knowing about: chocolate. The good news? Vietnamese bean-to-bar chocolatier Maison Marou is opening its first-ever international outpost at Changi Airport, so we can finally get a taste of it without hopping on a plane.
You’ll be able to find Maison Marou’s new boutique at Terminal 1's Departure Transit Area, stocked with single-origin bars, indulgent pastries and rich drinking chocolate, all wrapped up in beautiful packaging which makes for a perfect gift.

If you visit Vietnam often, chances are you might have come across (or even purposely sought out) Maison Marou. Since launching in 2011, the bean-to-bar chocolatier has become a local favourite for its use of Vietnamese cacao sourced directly from farmers across the country. Rather than buying pre-made chocolate, Maison Marou oversees every step of the process in-house, from roasting the beans to crafting the finished bars. Many of its chocolates also bring out the distinct flavour profiles of individual cacao-growing regions.

Apart from its award-winning chocolate, the brand's cafés in Vietnam are also famous for their buttery pastries, decadent desserts and its rich hot chocolate. You’ll be able to try these at their flagship in Ho Chi Minh City.
Maison Marou's Changi Airport boutique is open now at Terminal 1's Departure Transit Area. Follow them on Instagram here.
