Welcome to Your Daily Dose, a daily column dedicated to what Time Out Singapore's editors are loving right now including food, music, movies, theatre, workouts, and more – all of which you can also experience form the safety and comfort of your home while Singapore's 'circuit breaker' measures are in place till May 4. Make the most of your home-stay by ticking off the 28-day plan we’ve set up.

With all the news dominating our scrolls (also, please remind that one friend to stop spreading fake news on WhatsApp), feeling like we're all stuck in limbo seems like the new normal. News flash: it doesn't have to be. Monday blues or not, don't it drag you down. Instead, keep your worries under control by doing simple meditation exercises, taking part in a mass online workout, or playing some upbeat music that even your two left feet can't resist. If you're looking for more inspiration to cure boredom, we've got some good antidotes.

Yesterday, we were glued to our screens live-streaming One World: Together at Home and binge-watching free HBO Originals. We even created our very own tea blend with a.Muse Projects. Today, we're looking forward to a house party – 28 HongKong Street style – while social distancing, playing Gentle Bones and Charlie' Two Sides on repeat, and supporting the arts by staying tuned to Monogue From My Bedroom.

28HKS House Party
What if we tell you that you can bring the famous 28 experience from the bar to your house? All you need is the internet. Start by gathering your party peeps – while maintaining that social distance – and placing an order with 28 HongKong Street. Get each of your party pal to choose three drinks (100ml each for $21) from the House Party menu which includes cocktails like Lazy Bear, a mix of peaches and herb; 28 Mezcal Negroni, a 28 version of the classic; Remember the Maine, Manhattan's sister drink; The Fess, a blend of rum and chocolate; Wake Up Call, a contemporary coffee classic; and Last Dragon, a spicy concoction with Chai and gin. Amp up the fun-o-meter with a surprise drink for a friend – simply add it to your order and it will be included in their delivery. Boom. While you're at it, add on snacks such as the Truffle Mac N' Cheese Ball, Garden Chips, Fancy Nuts, and Apple Fritters with bourbon cream.

When the party hour comes, your host with the most is none other than 28’s bar family. Powered by Zoom, the team will be connecting with you and your crew of four or more, sharing all the deets about the selected cocktails. When it comes to the choons, turn up the volume for a curated Spotify playlist featuring some of 28’s favourites – think an eclectic mix of new hip-hop, pop throwbacks, and avant-garde sounds.

The 28 HongKong Street Party is priced at $88 per person or $158 per couple in the same house. Delivery costs will be calculated and added based on the location, starting from $12 for addresses in central. All takeaways and delivery by advance orders are available between 5pm to 10pm, from Tuesday through Saturday via WhatsApp at 8318 0328 or email at findus@28hks.com.

Two Sides by Gentle Bones and Charlie Lim
What do you get when you combine two singers to one track? Two Sides – a bittersweet melody written, produced, and harmonised by local singer-songwriters Gentle Bones and Charlie Lim. Together with the distinct, lilting beats, the soothing bedroom vocals of the former and the smooth jazzy tones of the latter together exude an understated power that can only be achieved after the stormy clouds of heartbreak have subsided. You could say Two Sides is an ode to hopeless romantics who are going through a rough patch.

"Joel has a strong sense of melody which made writing and producing this song quite effortless,” explains Charlie. "I believe we’ve come up with a song that perfectly addresses our struggles of the duality we face in both our personal relationships and our strive to touch people with our music,” Bones continues.

An immediate addition to our WFH Spotify playlist, the emotive track marks the first collaboration by the pair, released Gentle Bones' spankin' new label Yung Lee Records. Like every song, there are always two sides to it: love it or hate. And for us, we love it. Play Two Sides on Spotify here.

Monologues From My Bedroom

Monologues From My Bedroom
Despite theatres going dark, artists from near and far are still doing their bit to keep the ball rolling. Drawing the curtain open via the Interwebs is Monologues From My Bedroom, an online theatre performance brought presented by Rumah and Cognatus Theatre. It showcases six original soliloquies by actors around the world including Malaysia, Thailand, the UK, and Singapore. Expect a diverse range of stories illustrated through dramatic monologues, highlighting the fact that the imagination knows no boundaries despite being constrained within our four walls – something we can all relate to right now.

Repping Singapore on the virtual space are Victoria Chen who was featured in Checkpoint Theatre's Eat Duck and W!ld Rice's Fair Play; Nishath Kumar who has performed in The Block Party at last year's M1 Peer Pleasure Youth Theatre Festival; and Rebekah Dorai who brought the house down with Building A Character at W!ld Rice Singapore Theatre Festival 2018. Joining the trio are Fara Faidzan (Malaysia), Kelly B Jones (Thailand) and Paloma Aznar (UK).

The programme is also based on a pay-what-you-want basis, and every contribution helps support artists during these difficult times, so show your support by purchasing a ticket and tuning in. And as you know, we're always up for some storytelling and supporting the arts, so we've set our alarms – the showcase will be streamed on YouTube at 8.30pm.
