Whether you’re in the mood for some post-workout coffee or looking to pair your coastal cuisine with some water sports, Singapore has some ace lifestyle cafes for all you Sporty Spice wannabes. Some are even housed in gyms and fitness studios, giving you more reason to hit the gym and enjoy a healthy smoothie or salad after – ah, the perils of squeezing a lunchtime workout and hunting for a place to grab some munch that even the speediest of spinners find challenging. With these lifestyle cafes, you can try a new sport, break a sweat, and refuel, all under one roof.

Bouldering Gym Project Send imagines its café as a community, 'people-first space', so members of the public curious about bouldering are invited to visit Beta Café to hang out with climbers too. The menu is made up of locally-sourced dishes, ranging from savoury grilled cheese sandwiches and salmon bagels to sinfully sweet kouign-amann and sticky cinnamon buns. Wash these down with refreshing cold-pressed juices and artisanal coffee served by an in-house barista. The space is also work-friendly with power points lying around for those looking to work from a 'second' home.

Trapeze Rec. Club isn't just an aesthetically pleasing wellness sanctuary, it also dishes out food for the soul. At Canteen, busy hustlers are invited to an eclectic selection of coffee to enjoy alongside healthy yoghurt and acai bowls. For heartier fuel foods, sink your teeth in the best-selling grilled cheese sammy ($14.80) or build your own bagel (from $4) with the standard breakfast spreads from blueberry to peanut butter. And if you're worried about the cheating, fret not, everything is sourced with healthy and organic ingredients.

Yoga Movement’s new stunning 6,000-square-foot flagship studio boasts seven-metre-high ceilings, three spacious studios, a new coffee bar, and our favourite – a breezy outdoor patio overlooking the bustle of the city. Custom-designed tropical prints adorn the walls, matching up to the dynamic range of yoga-inspired classes available. But what’s really exciting is the new coffee concept by Yoga Movement that's fronted by Common Man Coffee Roasters. Rock up to the bar post-yoga sesh for coffee, juices and some light bites.

Island life just got a whole lot hotter with Ola Beach Club, Singapore’s only Hawaiian-inspired lifestyle venue – and we’re not just talking about the beach hotties who rock up here. Besides renting out a host of water sports equipment like stand-up paddles, kayaks, and water-propelled jet packs for daredevils who want to try their hand at flying up to nine metres in the air, the beach shack also dishes out ahi poke bowls served with your choice of marinated tuna and Kalua pig tacos – all best paired with a Tiki-style tipple.

Besides offering water sports experiences, Adventure Paddlers also spearheads this seaside bar in Pasir Ris which makes a breezy escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The beach house has a large selection of beers, spirits, and even coffee for you to enjoy under the sun – or moonlight. There are also salads, sandwiches, mac and cheese, and buffalo wings to pair with your drinks. Once you’re all fuelled up, make your way to the games corner and challenge your mates to dart, pool or foosball.

If you're looking to hone your wakeboarding or water skiing skills, make a splash at Singapore Wake Park – it's the only cable-ski park to do so. And after working up a sweat wakeboarding (or faceplanting in the water), unwind with some food and drinks as the breeze gently caresses your skin. The waterfront bistro bar Coastal Rhythm offers the tastiest combo of comforting Asian favourites and modern Western dishes like chicken tikka pizza and battered otah, as well as milkshakes, draft beers, and even champagne to toast to your new waterboarding achievement.
