Since the Fraser government created it, Artbank has been collecting Australian art so that you don't have to; it's taken all the expense, commitment and legwork out of collecting, so that only the fun part is left – and that's where you come in. Simply put, Artbank has over 9000 pieces of art, and you can rent them – for 3, 6, 12 months (or more). Access to the Artbank building and collection is by appointment only.
In August 2014, after 30 years operating out of Rosebery, Artbank took up residence in a larger, purpose-designed space in Waterloo, and broadened its scope to include hosting performances, exhibitions and events.
