Celebrate our national life in all its diversity and complexity in this outdoor photography exhibition in Hyde Park
Celebrate the clement weather with this outdoor exhibition, part of City of Sydney's Art & About program of public art. Australian Life showcases 28 images taken across Australia by snappers that range from hobbyist to professional, selected by a committee of award-winning artists.
The subjects range from sweeping landscapes to intimate portraits, covering political issues and key cultural moments. You'll see a swarm of seagulls disrupting Melbourne Cup celebrations, a ram parading down a catwalk in front of tourists, and queer performers taking the stage at Sissy Ball, part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The exhibition is showing along the St James walkway at Hyde Park from September 19 to October 13. The winner of the $10,000 Australian Life prize will be announced at the opening event.
