This combined public gallery and art studio, situated 40 minutes from Sydney CBD in the suburb of Gymea, was opened in 2000 on land bequeathed by locals Ben and Hazel Broadhurst. With a competitive roster of exhibitions each year (including the Archibald Prize), and artist residencies, workshops, talks and masterclasses, it is the jewel of Southern Sydney's arts scene. The Gallery Café, open seven days from 9am-4pm, offers big breakfast fare and modern Australian cuisine.
Hazelhurst is closed New Years Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
