Time Out says

Find a secret spot on the hill at this exclusive cocktail party for NYE

The grassy rise of Observatory Hill is always an excellent spot to soak up Sydney vistas, so it just makes sense to head there for the perfect fireworks viewing vantage point this New Year’s Eve. Sydney Observatory will be hosting a posh garden party that includes Champagne, wine, beer and canapés throughout the evening – and of course those killer views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Vegetarians will toast to the new year while they enjoy meat-free rice paper rolls, spicy samosa, steamed buns, and mushroom and bocconcini sliders. For the omnivorous among us, there’s also grilled lamb cutlets with a tangy chimichurri sauce, smoked salmon and caviar blinis, pork buns, calamari, freshly shucked oyster and rare roast beef married to potato rostis with horseradish cream. There'll also be dessert to suit every sweet palate.

The feast and partying at this adults-only event kicks off from 7.30pm, and you can dance until the fireworks start petering out at 12.30pm. It’s a fancy affair, so get dolled up and make your way to the photo booth to get a profile pic to remember.
