As another school term draws to a close and the weather switches to frosty we're all on the hunt for some blood-warming activities to fill the winter holidays. Look no further than our city's fave harbourside attraction, Luna Park. This June and July school holidays the park is welcoming families, adults and tiny thrillseekers to enjoy their massive new upgrade.

Luna Park is unveiling nine whole new rides this year and during the school holidays you'll get to try eight. The famed Big Dipper will launch in December, but for now you can bust your lungs and giggle your guts out on the park's newest additions. Adults will love the soaring Sledgehammer, a gigantic pendulum that straps you in for a 360 degree spin. Or take your bravest young people aboard the family-friendly Boomerang, a rollercoater described on the website as "Australia's first G rated G-force coaster". For even milder thrills, Luna Park is also now home to the Little Nipper (see what they did there?). A gentler rollercoaster the family can enjoy together.

Kids will be delighted by the new smattering of friendly, colourful rides. Watch them soar aboard colourful balloons on Cloud 9 or hop around on the Freaky Frogs. For the tiniest thrillseekers in your life, they can also try out the mini-version of Luna Park's Hair Raiser or shriek alongside their accompanying big person on the Silly Sub.

Day passes and annual passes are on sale now. Find out more, book tickets and peek at the new rides here.
