If you’re a Sydneysider, you can’t go past a good hidden bar. Kent Street is always bustling, but you’ll want to head underground for the real action. It’s where the old-timey Button Bar has reopened and they’re doing it with a bang.

Kick back with a couple of $15 cocktails all night long from a secret menu. It rotates seasonally so you never know what you’re in for but a sneak peek is the fruity Pink Pony Club (Vodka, Italicus, pomegranate, hibiscus and lemon) and the floral Bathwater (Gin, elderflower, lemon and soda).

Pair your drinks with some killer tacos – not only are they super cheap ($6 a pop, late into the night) but they’re made by a featured resident chef. You can find The Lab tucked next to Button Bar – every few months, a new chef sets up shop to offer a fresh menu. Right now, you can choose from chipotle chicken, smoky beef, braised pork or black bean and cauliflower tacos, or have a squiz at the other taqueria goodies like nachos and quesadillas.

If you find yourself on the town come Wednesday, Button Bar’s Connect Night is the event to hit up. Connect over Connect 4 – whether that’s with mates or fresh faces. Solo visitors are encouraged!

You can find Button Bar on Kent Street open ’til late from Tuesday to Saturday. Pop in or make a booking here.
