We may never get a white Christmas here in Sydney, but we make a cracker of a warming holiday feast any time of year. The Taphouse has traditionally supplied the city with a bounty of local beer and natural wines, but this winter they’ll also provide a banquet-style Christmas in July feast.
The Darlinghurst pub will serve three courses of warming winter dishes – think a giant gleaming turkey, roast potatoes and flaming pudding – accompanied by mulled cider made in-house. Bigger groups also have the option of adding a course of canapés to the feast. In keeping with the holiday, there’ll be a cheery theme, complete with tinsel and crackers on the table.
It’s meant to be a party, so you’ll need a minimum of ten friends to book this banquet. You can reserve a seat at the table for $60 per person until August 31. Choose from seatings between midday and 7.30pm.
